How Does Electrolysis Work?

To understand how electrolysis works, it is important to know what it is that electrolysis does. Electrolysis isn’t a surface removal technique like Shaving. How Does Galvanic Electrolysis Work?
Galvanic electrolysis involves sending a DC current of electricity directly to the root of an Unwanted Hair via a needle that is inserted into the follicle of the affected hair. As the DC current travels through the follicle, a chemical reaction occurs. This chemical reaction produces sodium hydroxide, which destroys the hair follicle itself.
How Does Thermolysis Electrolysis Work?
With the thermolysis method of electrolysis, a needle is again inserted into the follicle of an unwanted hair. However, the electrical current that is sent through the needle is an AC current with thermolysis. Unwanted hair destruction does not result from a chemical reaction with thermolysis. Instead, as the AC current passes through the needle, the resulting vibration heats the water molecules surrounding the hair follicles. The resulting heat damages the hair follicle, ideally preventing future hair growth.
A primary benefit of thermolysis over the Galvanic method of electrolysis is that it does not take as long. However, a major drawback is that the thermolysis method of hair removal is that it is not as reliable as the Galvanic methods.
How Does Blend Electrolysis Work?
Blend electrolysis, as the name implies, consolidates both the Galvanic and thermoloysis methods into a single electrolysis method. With the blend methods, a needle is again inserted into the follicle of an unwanted hair. However, both AC and DC currents are passed through the needle at the same time. This method works quickly and also has effective Permanent Hair Removal results.
Additional Factors for Understanding How Electrolysis Does its Work?
The procedure for electrolysis is similar regardless of the particular method used for electrolysis. Every method for electrolysis begins with inserting a small needle into the follicle of an unwanted hair and applying some form of electric current. The end goal is destroy the unwanted hair and to keep it from growing back.
Because each unwanted hair has to be treated, electrolysis can be a time consuming process. The time required for successful electrolysis treatment varies among people, and is related to a variety of different factors. The larger the area to be treated, the longer electrolysis treatments will take. Other important factors include hereditary and hormonal factors, how sensitive the person’s skin is, and the degree to which the hair follicles are curved.
